GU PG Admission Eligibility Criteria

Through the official online application portal, Gauhati University will accept applications for the Postgraduate Entrance Examination, 2023. Students who meet the following eligibility requirements and wish to enroll in a postgraduate program at Gauhati University may submit online applications through the GU portal.

MA and MSc Courses
A student must fulfill one of the following requirements in order to be admitted to a Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MSc) program.

MCom Course
To be admitted to the Master of Commerce (MCom) program, a student must fulfill any one of the following requirements.

GU PG Common Entrance Test

For the academic year 2023–2024, Gauhati University will have a Common Entrance Test for admission to various postgraduate programs (both for university departments and affiliated colleges of the university). Admissions will only be granted to applicants who meet the entrance exam’s performance and eligibility requirements.

The offline entrance test will be held from July 15 to July 17, 2023.

GU PG Admission Application Fee

Candidates have to pay a non-refundable Rs.400/- as an application fee to complete their application for the Post Graduate Entrance Test to be conducted by Gauhati University. Payment of the application fee is to be done through the online mode of payment.
