APSC CCE Exam Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

> The candidate must hold a Degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess such qualification as may be declared equivalent by the Government.

> Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification on the date of submission of their applications

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Regional Language Proficiency: A candidate should be able to speak Assamese or other official languages or associate official languages of the State or any of the tribal languages of the State.

Residentship: A candidate must be an original inhabitant of Assam.

Employment Exchange Registration: A candidate should be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.

Small Family Norms: Candidates have to submit a declaration regarding “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A at the time of applying for the C.C. (Prelim) Examination.

Age Limit: The candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 38 years of age on 01.01.2022.

APSC CCE Exam Selection Process

The Combined Competitive Examination consists of the following two successive stages: – 

(i) The Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

(ii) The Main Examination (Written & Interview Test) 

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

The preliminary examination will consist of two papers of objective type multiple choice questions of two hours duration each.

Date of Exam: 26th March 2023 (Sunday)

Type of Questions: Objective Questions

Total Papers: 2 Papers

Full Marks: 400 Marks

Duration of Exam: 2 Hours for Each Paper.

Negative Marking: One-fourth of the total mark assigned to one question will be deducted for a wrong answer marked by a candidate.

Syllabus: The candidates may refer to the Assam Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2019 for syllabi of General Studies I & General Studies II.

Exam Centres: Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Biswanath Chariali, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Diphu, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Haflong, Hamren, Hatsingimari, Hojai, Jorhat, Kajalgaon, Karimganj, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Mangaldoi, Morigaon, Mushalpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Silchar, Sivasagar, Sonari, Tezpur, Tinsukia and Udalguri.

2. Main Examination (Written & Interview)

The Main Examination consists of

I. Written Examination and

II. Interview Test / Personality Test (After qualifying in written test)

I. Written Examination

The number of applicants accepted to the written portion of the Main Examination will be 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies announced for each category, based on the outcome of the Preliminary Examination. Six traditional essay-style/objective-style papers with a word restriction will make up the written test.

Medium of exam: A candidate shall be allowed to write his/her answer papers in English or Assamese language.

Total marks: 1500 Marks (250 marks each)

II. Interview Test/ Personality Test

Name of exam: CCE Main Examination 2022

Type of exam: Interview

Total marks: 275 Marks

Exam centre: Guwahati.

Candidates will be summoned for interviews in a ratio of 1:3 to the number of advertised positions based on the outcome of the written portion of the Main Test.

The applicants’ ultimate ranking would be determined by their final score on the Main Examination (written portion as well as interview).
